Die Construction Improves Radiant Intensity of 940nm IR Emitter
Vishay has used a unique die
construction to produce high-power,
high-speed 940nm Infra-Red (IR) emitters.
As a result the VSMB2000X01 surface-mount IR
emitter, with an angle of half intensity of ±12°,
features significantly higher radiant intensity of
emitted light and power compared to standard
emitter technologies.
The VSMB2000X01 features a small surface-mount
package, measuring 2.3mm x 2.3mm x
2.8mm. It reliably produces high-power high-radiant-
intensity IR, with a peak wavelength of
940nm.
The emitter is built using
GaAlAs technology and
moulded in a clear,
untinted plastic package,
including a 1.9mm lens.
The device matches the
VEMD20x0X01 diode and
VEMT20x0X01 transistor
detector series.
Vishay’s IR emitter
technology is also available
in 1.9mm (T¾) gullwing
(VSMB2000X01), PLCC2
(VSMB3940X01) and 0805
(VSMB1940X01) surface-mount
packages. All of
these devices are qualified
to the automotive AECQ101
standard.
