Benefitting from Littelfuse’s thermally protected varistor technology, the module features a builtin thermal disconnect function which prevents catastrophic failure and fire hazards even in the extreme event of the varistor reaching its end of life or sustaining an over-voltage.
The LSP05GX also features high line-toearth/ground resistance, which provides for faster insulation resistance testing on the production line.
The LSP05GX is available in both parallel- and series-connected options. The series-connected option gives a clear indication of the operation of thermal fault protection by disconnecting power to the luminaire, thereby signalling that the surge protective device needs to be replaced.
Use of the LSP05G240SX or LSP05G277SX, connected in parallel and with an external LED, is approved by DEKRA for compliance with the EN/IEC 6163-11 standard.
The LSP05GX also enables manufacturers to ensure that their lighting products comply with the requirements of the IEEE C62.41.2 Location Category C Low standard.
The device is also compatible with the ANSI C136.2 Enhanced Level specifications.
