ON Semiconductor – Single-chip sub-1GHz RF transceiver: AX5043 achieves link budget of 143dB

AX5043: reliable wireless communication

The AX5043 is a single-chip, ultra-low power RF transceiver operating at frequencies from 27MHz to 1,050MHz and offering high sensitivity and selectivity.

Featuring a large link budget of 143dB at a data rate of 1kbit/s, the AX5043 provides for robust communication in wireless lighting networks even in conditions that are challenging for radio signals because of noise, distance or attenuating materials.

An integrated voltage regulation system allows the direct use of batteries. Because the device has a short start-up time, it enables the implementation of time- and energy-efficient protocols. The AX5043 supports FSK, MSK, 4-FSK, GFSK, GMSK, AFSK and ASK modulation schemes.

• 16dBm maximum output power level
• Constant transmitter output power over the full 1.8V-3.6V supply range
• QFN-28 package
