Panasonic – Light sensor AMS302T, mimics human eye’s response to ambient light

Panasonic’s AMS302T is a light sensor which provides an output current proportional to the intensity of light incident on it.

The device’s peak sensitivity is at a wavelength of light of 580nm. An optical filter built in to the AMS302T ensures that its sensitivity is close to that of the human eye’s sensitivity to light.

This means that the device may be used in an automatic lighting control system to adjust the brightness of the output from a luminaire in response to the intensity of the ambient light.
