Vishay – Low input-current optocouplers VOM617A and VOM618A supplied in miniature package

VOM617A: compact PCB footprint

Vishay’s VOM617A and VOM618A are low input-current optocouplers which have a photo-transistor output.

The input current of the VOM618A is 1mA, and for the VOM617A it is 5mA. The optocouplers are housed in a compact SOP-4 mini-flat package, which reduces the PCB footprint by 30% compared to the DIP-4 package in which many optocouplers are supplied.

The devices are available with a range of specifications for current transfer ratio from 40% to 600%. They feature a GaAs infra-red LED which is optically coupled to a silicon photo-transistor. They offer a 3,750VRMS isolation-voltage rating.
