Diodes Incorporated – Hall-effect latch family offers sensitivity and output options


The AH377x/AH378x family of high- voltage Hall-effect latch ICs introduced by Diodes Incorporated provides various operating magnetic thresholds, making them suitable for a wide range of motor-control, rotational-position and speed-sensing applications.

The AH377x/AH378x parts operate on a supply voltage between 3V and 28V, suitable for both consumer and industrial equipment. The latches include a reverse-blocking diode, Zener clamps on the input/ output pins, and an output-current limit to help provide protection from transients and overloads.

An extended temperature specification, from -40°C to 125°C, and a low temperature coefficient ensure reliable operation at the switching-threshold points, while a 6kV ESD capability improves robustness and makes handling easier in production.

The AH377x/AH378x latch ICs offer excellent performance: a 10μs power-on time and a 3.75μs response time reduce delays and commutation errors. A chopper-stabilised architecture with an internal bandgap regulator ensures temperature stability, minimises switch-point drift and provides high immunity to stress. The devices also have good RF noise immunity, further contributing to system reliability.
