The 6N137, VO2601, and VO2611 from Vishay Intertechnology are single-channel 10Mbaud optocouplers which use a high- efficiency input LED coupled with an integrated photodiode detector IC. An Enable pin allows the detector to be strobed. The VO2630, VO2631, and VO4661 are space-saving dual- channel optocouplers, also featuring a 10Mbaud transmission rate.
The detector has an open-drain NMOS transistor output, which leaks less current than an open-collector Schottky-clamped transistor output.
The devices’ internal shield provides a guaranteed common-mode transient immunity of 5kV/μs for the VO2601 and VO2631 and 15kV/μs for the VO2611 and VO4661. This provides more design margin than the industry-standard immunity value for the 6N137 of 1kV/μs.
