The integrated radio transceiver of the BlueNRG-1 is extremely power-efficient in the modes frequently used by devices, such as beacons when setting-up short-duration connections for exchanges such as sharing offers with shoppers’ smartphones.
The SoC’s ability to move quickly between power-saving and active modes helps to extend battery life. In addition, RF output power is a high 8dBm, helping to ensure clear and reliable communication for optimum efficiency, even in noisy environments.
The BlueNRG-1 also offers value-added features which make device design easier. These include a dedicated digital-microphone input which simplifies voice-enabled applications, and a 105°C maximum operating temperature suitable for smart-lighting and automotive applications.
The BlueNRG-132 is supplied in a 5mm x 5mm QFN-32 package, and the BlueNRG-134 in a 2.7mm x 2.6mm wafer-level chip-scale package ideal for space-constrained applications.
