STMicroelectronics’ IIS2DH is a low- power, high-performance three-axis linear accelerometer which provides a digital output over a standard I2C or serial peripheral interface. Guaranteed to operate over an extended temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, it is intended for use in industrial applications.
The IIS2DH has user-selectable full scales of ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g and is capable of measuring acceleration at output data rates from 1Hz to 5.3kHz. In normal mode at an output data rate of 1Hz the device draws just 2μA.
The IIS2DH may be configured to generate interrupt signals by two independent inertial wake-up/free-fall events as well as by the position of the device itself. It is capable of performing both motion detection and free-fall detection.
Its self-test capability allows the user to check the functionality of the sensor in the final application. The IIS2DH is available in a plastic land grid array package measuring 2mm x 2mm x 1mm.

The STEVAL-MKI168V1 is an adapter board designed to facilitate the evaluation of MEMS devices in the IIS2DH product family. The board can be plugged into a standard DIL 24 socket. The adapter provides the complete IIS2DH pin-out and comes ready to use with the required decoupling capacitors on the power-supply line.
