C&K – Tactile switches for demanding applications rated for 5 million cycles

C&K has expanded its KSC series of sealed surface-mount tactile switches with the addition of four switches which are rated for operation over a lifetime of as much as 5 million cycles.

The KSC2, KSC4, KSC7 and KSC10 series switches feature momentary-action functionality and a single-pole, single-throw contact arrangement.

They are IP67-rated and designed to withstand intensive use in industrial environments.

The four series of long-life KSC switches may be supplied with any of a wide variety of actuators so that they can satisfy users’ requirements for specific dimensions, haptics, tactile resistance and durability. The ability to specify the haptic and acoustic response of KSC series switches makes them ideal for interior automotive controls. For exterior automotive applications, including door handles and boot openers, the switches’ IP67 sealing and durability are advantageous features.

The KSC2, KSC4, KSC7 and KSC10 series are available with either J-bend or gullwing terminals. Parts with silver contacts are rated for a maximum current of 50mA and an operating-temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Parts with gold contacts feature a 10mA maximum current and operate over a temperature range from -40°C to 125°C.
