NXP – LIN transceiver’s output shaped to minimise EMI


The TJA1027 from NXP Semiconductors is a transceiver IC providing the interface between a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) master/slave protocol controller and the physical bus in a LIN network. It is mainly intended for in-vehicle sub- networks operating at signal rates up to 20kbaud.

The transceiver complies with the following LIN standards:
• LIN 2.0
• LIN 2.1
• LIN 2.2
• LIN 2.2A
• SAE J2602

It is pin-compatible with the TJA1020 and the TJA1021, also from NXP.

The transmit data-stream generated by the protocol controller is converted by the TJA1027 into an optimised bus signal shaped to minimise electro-magnetic emissions. The LIN Bus Output pin is pulled high via an internal termination resistor.

Power consumption is very low in sleep mode. The input levels for the TJA1027 are compatible with both 3.3V and 5V devices.
