Intersil – Integrated power device provides dual converters and LDOs


The ISL9307 from Intersil is an integrated Power Management IC (PMIC) for a low-voltage microprocessor in a system with a battery power supply.

The ISL9307 includes two synchronous step-down converters, and two low-input, low-dropout (LDO) linear regulators.

Switching at a high frequency of 3MHz, the ISL9307 allows the use of very small external inductors and capacitors. Both step-down converters can enter Pulse-skip mode under light-load conditions to improve efficiency and extend battery run-time.

The input-voltage range of the LDOs is 1.5V to 5.5V, which means that they can be powered from one of the on-chip step-down converters or directly from a battery.
