Panasonic – New box-type film capacitors feature low loss and excellent frequency characteristics

Panasonic Automotive and Industrial Systems Europe has introduced a new range of small film capacitors suitable for active filtering functions as well as high- frequency and high-current circuits.

Featuring low loss and excellent frequency characteristics, the new ECWFE capacitors have a non-inductive construction: it uses metallised polypropylene film, and has a flame- retardant plastic case and a built-in fuse. When the fuse is blown, the ECWFE capacitor fails open rather than short.

The ECWFE capacitors are supplied in one of two voltage ratings: parts with a 450V DC rating are available with capacitance in the range of 0.1μF to 4.7μF; 630V DC parts are available in capacitance values ranging from 0.1μF to 2.2μF.

The durable box-shape casing of the ECWFE capacitors provides for better tolerance of vibration than standard film capacitors.
