Cypress – Integrated Bluetooth 4.2 module with MCU core supports stand-alone operation

Cypress Semiconductor has introduced the CYBT-343026-01, a fully integrated Bluetooth® Smart Ready wireless module based on the Cypress CYW20706 Bluetooth radio IC.

Conforming to the specifications of the Bluetooth 4.2 standard, the CYBT-343026-01 EZ-BTTM module is supplied with a royalty-free Bluetooth Low Energy stack. It features an ARM® Cortex®-M3 microcontroller core for stand-alone operation without an external host controller.

The module includes a crystal oscillator, passive components, 512kbytes of serial Flash memory and a power amplifier which enables it to achieve Class I or Class II output power capability. It supports peripheral functions including an ADC and four PWMs, provides UART, I2C and serial peripheral interfaces, and offers a Bluetooth audio channel. It also includes up to 11 GPIOs.

The module is supported by the Cypress Wireless Connectivity for Embedded Devices (WICED) software development platform, which includes a software development kit and an Eclipse-based integrated development environment.

The CYBT-343026-01 is fully qualified by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, which validates manufacturers’ Bluetooth compliance test results. It is housed in a 12.0mm × 15.5mm × 2.0mm package. In addition, the CYBT-343026-01 module includes regulatory certification for FCC (USA), ISED (Canada), CE (Europe), and MIC (Japan).
