Hirose – 25A board-to-board connector features misalignment absorption structure


Hirose’s FX30B series of board-to-board connectors couples a high current capacity with the ability to absorb mating tolerances in designs comprised of multiple connectors.

The connectors feature an innovative contact structure which allows for horizontal movement of up to ±0.3mm and +1mm vertically, enabling it to absorb mating misalignment and dimensional errors. The blade contacts on the header and the spring contacts on the receptacle are staggered to maintain sufficient deflection range in a limited space.

In addition, the gold-plated contacts feature four independent angled contact points, and provide an effective mating length of 2mm, giving high contact reliability.

The moulded guide posts on the header engage with the ribs on the receptacle to allow for an alignment movement of ±1.3mm horizontally to simplify mating operation and to prevent incorrect insertion. In addition, there are six keys around the mating face which prevent reverse insertion.

Three different variations are available to allow a vertical, parallel or co-planar board-to-board connection.

The FX30B series is part of Hirose’s FunctionMAX product family of board-to-board connectors, which meet the requirements of the industrial market while providing a high level of functionality.
