STMicroelectronics – New evaluation software demonstrates combination of Bluetooth Low Energy and sub-1GHz radios


The STSW-BNRG-S2LP from STMicroelectronics is an evaluation software package which helps designers to build dual-radio applications based on the BlueNRG-1, a Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) System-on-Chip (SoC), and the S2-LP, a long-range radio transceiver which operates in the licence-free spectrum at frequencies below 1GHz.

The STSW-BNRG- S2LP provides a set of demonstration applications in which uses of Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity are coupled with the long-range capability of the S2-LP. User applications are able to run on the ARM® Cortex®-M0 core embedded in the BlueNRG-1 SoC.

The STSW-BNRG-S2LP demonstration applications are supplied with header and source file sets. A complete set of drivers for interfacing peripherals, such as an ADC, GPIOs, real-time clock and watchdog timer, to the S2-LP is also provided.

In addition, a BLE-Sub1GHz Navigator PC application provides an interactive and user-friendly interface to the associated BLE-Sub1GHz software package.

This enables the user to select and run the demonstration application easily without the need for any extra hardware.
