NXP Semiconductors – Automotive MCUs support functional safety designs

The S32K148 series from NXP Semiconductors are AEC-Q100 qualified 32-bit microcontrollers. Based on an Arm® Cortex®-M4F processor core operating at up to 112MHz, the S32K148 MCUs are ideally suited to use in automotive applications that require compliance with the ISO 26262 functional safety standard.

The features of the S32K MCUs include:
• Scalability: S32K MCUs are hardware- and software-compatible to give designers multiple performance, memory and feature options
• Integration: the MCUs feature a CAN FD interface, an Ethernet interface controller with IEEE 1588 support, CSEc hardware security and ASIL-B grade functional safety
• Software: free automotive-grade software development kit and development environment, AUTOSAR and MCAL support and a third- party ecosystem
