The FRDM-KW41Z from NXP Semiconductors is a development kit based on the Kinetis® W series of wireless microcontrollers. The KW41Z MCUs feature an Arm® Cortex®-M0+ processor alongside an integrated 2.4GHz transceiver and can manage two protocol stacks in parallel. The on-board radio supports various wireless communications protocols:
• Bluetooth® Smart and Bluetooth Low Energy v4.2
• Generic frequency shift keying
• IEEE 802.15.4
The FRDM-KW41Z kit contains two Freedom boards which can be used as a development board, or as a shield when connected to a host processor. One board includes an NXP FXOS8700CQ six-axis sensor which combines an accelerometer and magnetometer in a small 3mm x 3mm x 1.2mm package.
