Vishay – Low-profile TVS diodes offer precise breakdown- voltage values and high surge-current capability


Vishay Intertechnology’s SMBJxxD series of surface-mount TransZorb® Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diodes offers a tight ±3.5% breakdown-voltage tolerance combined with very low reverse leakage current.

Compared to earlier devices, the new TVS diodes provide superior clamping features, including higher peak pulse surge current and lower clamping voltages for better input protection of semiconductor devices.

The parts are intended for use in the protection of sensitive electronic circuits against voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lightning.

The devices are ideal for DC adapter power- line protection, power-supply snubber circuits, and general surge-voltage protection.

Available with unidirectional polarity, the SMBJxxD series consists of 47 parts available with stand-off voltage ratings ranging from 5V to 188V.

These TVS diodes are housed in a low- profile DO-214AA package.
