C&K’s SDS series detection switches may be used in equipment such as a utility meter to provide a signal to a host controller when the housing has been tampered with.
When used as an anti-tamper device, the key advantage of the SDS series switch is its small size: featuring a low-profile package which protrudes just 2mm above board level, it is almost unnoticeable, and may be regarded as an undetectable detection device.
The switch provides 2mm of over-travel, giving flexibility in the mechanical design of the housing. It features normally open and normally closed circuitry, and can be actuated either from above or from the side.
Reliability is another advantage of the SDS series: it is rated for 100,000 switching cycles.
Custom options are available, including longer actuators and different contact plating materials.
