C&K – Tact switches offer wide choice of size, haptics and operating force options


The KSC series of tactile switches from C&K offers various options for configuring the elements of the assembly to meet the requirements of a wide variety of applications.

Individual configuration of a switch is often important to successful integration in a system design. The configuration options for the KSC series include the height of the actuator, the nature of the tactile response, the actuation force, the sound of the switch’s action and the material of the contacts.

A variety of actuators, domes and housings can be mixed in order to obtain the right dimensions, haptics and resistance to meet environmental requirements. By offering the right mix, a KSC series switch can precisely match the customer’s requirement in terms of haptics and durability.

Ten series of KSC products are available, each featuring different heights and actuators to best fit the final application. These include the Ultra-Long Life KSC switches: the KSC201, KSC401, KSC701 and KSC1001 series, all available in both J-bend and gullwing formats.

They are designed to withstand intensive use in industrial environments, and are rated for 5 million switching cycles.

C&K also supplies the KSC switches in a side-actuated (vertical) configuration. The KSC4V2 switches are available with an operating force of 3.5N or 1.55N.
