The relay uses an optically coupled, single MOSFET output-switch architecture, and has a single-pole normally closed (1-Form B) configuration. It is capable of switching a maximum load current of 3.25A, a higher current than any other SSR with an equivalent configuration and housing.
The device is supplied in a four-pin single in-line package which measures 10.2mm x 21.1mm x 3.3mm. This slim design facilitates multiple channel switching in dense PCB designs.
The CPC1705Y SSR provides 2,500Vrms of input-to-output isolation and features very low maximum on-resistance of 0.09Ω.
The relay’s output includes an efficient MOSFET switch which uses IXYS’ patented OptoMOS architecture. The input controls the optically-coupled output, requiring only 5mA of input current to activate the isolated DC switch.
The combination of low on-resistance and high load-current capability makes this relay suitable for a variety of high-performance switching applications, offering a safe alternative in hazardous environments to electromechanical relays, which can generate sparks.
