TE Connectivity – Temperature sensor chips achieve very high accuracy of ±0.1°C


TE Connectivity (TE) supplies a series of digital temperature sensors which offer accuracy of ±0.1°C, superior to other chip-scale temperature sensors on the market today.

The TSYS series of sensors are supplied in miniature packages designed for use in space-constrained board designs. The series includes the ultra-accurate TSYS01 parts, which are housed in a 4mm x 4mm, 16-lead QFN package.

The TSYS01 offers ±0.1°C accuracy over a measurement range of -5°C to 50°C, while the TSYS01-1 achieves the same accuracy over a wider range of -20°C to 70°C. The accuracy of both devices is guaranteed to be ±0.5°C over the full operating-temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.

Other features of the TSYS01 parts also contribute to high system performance in temperature-monitoring applications. Response to changes in temperature is very fast thanks to the chips’ quick thermal response and short conversion time.

The TSYS01 parts are also notable for their low power consumption – they draw less than 12.5μA in normal operation.

The devices’ digital output makes them easy to integrate into microcontroller-based system designs.
